This Carpenter Gothic house, with gable roof, was built in 1890 by Brooks Inman. Inman purchased the design from Knoxville architect, George F. Barber. Barber's mail order homes arrived crated by boxcar, which accounts for the proximity of many of his homes to railroad tracks.

The "Montgomery House," believed to be a Sears Catalog home was built in 1902 by W.B. Montgomery. This home is located in the Hampton Heights Historic District of Spartensburg. One of the many owners was Oren Brady Sr., the first Director of SLED. Christopher Romney and his wife Elizabeth DeCourcy Wernette presently own this prestigious South Carolina lady.

This Victorian house was built in 1892 by C.E. Corley for his wife and their seven children. Corley was involved in much of the initial town planning of Lexington, SC, as well as the building of the Lexington Manufacturing Co. which was the only mill in the south to make ticking. The house was purchased in 1974 by the Marchant family, who restored it to its present condition. In 1988, they turned their home into the Restaurant at Cinnamon Hill which is still managed by their sons today.

LWC01 Tidalholm - Edgar Fripp House, Beaufort, SC. Edgar Fripp reportedly built this large Italinate style frame house as his summer home. Owned by his brother, James Fripp, the house served as Union Hospital #7 during the Civil War. From the 1930s until 1974 "Tidalholm" was used as a guest house bringing many artists, authors, professors, and statesmen to Beaufort. Tidalholm" was extensively altered after the "great hurricane" and restored in 1974 as a private residence with its original air of charm and gracious living. Several movies have been filmed here including the Great Santini and the Big Chill.
